Eden Scott Celebrates a Decade as Scotland’s People Business Eden Scott Celebrates a Decade as Scotland’s People Business 9 May 2013 Founded by Guy Martin, Michelle Lownie and Chris Logue in May 2003, Eden Scott has gone on to become a dominant player in the Scottish recruitment market. Starting off in a small room in a serviced office in Edinburgh’s New Town, the business has grown to having over 70 staff, with offices in three of Scotland’s major cities; Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen. Here we take a look back over Eden Scott’s journey: 2003: Launch Three Melville Craig Group veterans come together to establish an independent recruitment business; to be named Eden Scott. 2004: Establish Partnerships with High Profile Scottish Businesses Eden Scott experiences hyper growth within its first year. Partnering and building long-term relationships with Lifescan, Glenmorangie and International Rectifier help propel the business forward. 2005: Profits Soar Eden Scott expands the recruitment team whilst measuring record breaking profits. The expansion means that Eden Scott need to move from their one room office to 25 Ainslie Place and finally to 26 St. Andrew Square. 2006: Eden Scott Expands to Glasgow Eden Scott introduces a Glasgow office, headed up by Mark Durham. Based in The Exchange on St. Vincent Street, the Glasgow team establish themselves within the Information Technology market and quickly becomes one of the dominant players within the Central Belt. 2007: Growth in the Finance Sector The Eden Scott AccountancyFinance team develop relationships with market leaders to further drive profit growth and maintain exclusive partnerships. 2008: At the Forefront of Renewable Energy With the rise of Renewable Energy sources, Eden Scott establishes a team to address the acute skills shortage in the UK. Within their first year, the team place well over 100 people into Renewable Energy jobs, with a 98% repeat business record across all of their clients. 2009: Eden Scott Heads North to Aberdeen Eden Scott expands north, with the Aberdeen team being headed up by James Milne. The team, based in Riverside House, focus on the UK and international oil and gas market, as well as Aberdeen’s support services infrastructure. 2010: Seven Figure Profits Eden Scott measures record breaking profits, reaching into the seven figures. With no debt, the business continues to be financially strong and completely in control of its destiny with no external shareholders. 2011: Eden Scott Executive is Launched Specialising in senior level search, selection and appointments, the Eden Scott Executive team embark on an impressive journey across Higher Education, Public Sector, Engineering, Energy and Life Science markets. 2012: Aberdeen Enters into Top 5 Recruitment Companies The hard work and commitment of the team in Aberdeen move Eden Scott into the top 5 recruitment companies in Aberdeen; after less than 3 years of trading. 2013: Eden Scott Turns 10 At the end of our first decade, we have over seventy employees across three offices. Since start up, we’ve placed almost 4,000 people into permanent jobs throughout Scotland, the UK and around the globe.
